Here are some examples of our project work:
Inverclyde Autism Training Strategy
In January 2024 we were successful in the tender to develop an autism training strategy for Inverclyde HSPC.
Achievements:
Understanding of the priority training needs across the region
271 attendances in our 1 day In-depth autism and Neurodiversity course
Plans for a local autism best practice group are being developed
Feedback:
Feedback from training has been consistently excellent. The partnership between the 2 Autism Network trainers has been noted for their engaging and informative delivery.
Inverclyde Evaluation
Following the success of our Training Strategy work we were asked to carry our an evaluation of the Inverclyde Autism Pilot project.
Achievements:
An in-depth comprehensive evaluation of an important service that is used by senior HSCP officials to inform future service planning and delivery.
Understanding my Autism
A programme for older adults with a recent diagnosis of autism
With funding from the Adult Autism Fund we have developed a 6-week online programme of Understanding Autism targeted at those who have had a recent diagnosis of autism later in life (over 50’s).
Achievements:
6 different groups have been delivered in 2023-2025. Participants have joined from across Scotland particularly from more rural areas where access to advice and support is more limited. Feedback was consistently positive and clearly the programme has met a gap in post-diagnosis support for older adults.
Feedback:
‘Despite all my research about my autism this is the first time I have actually heard things I can relate to and to be understood.’
‘The joint facilitation from Lynsey and Richard worked really well. The pace and tone of the content delivery was perfect’
Fife Neurodevelopmental Team
Since 2021 we have been working with Fife NHS Neurodevelopmental team supporting the delivery of service to parents.
Achievements:
Developing a helpline for parents of children on the assessment waiting list
Assisting in the delivery of parents groups for newly diagnosed children
Development of a newsletter for parents of children on the assessment waiting list
